Make a Wish Foundation

I received a phone call from the Los Angeles Branch of Make a Wish Foundation. They said they wanted a donation in the form of Disney decorated cupcakes for a little boy named Christian. Of course, I would never say no, we happily whipped up the cupcakes that looked like Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck. They were taking Christian to a park to present him with the cupcakes and to tell him that his wish of going to Disney World was coming true. He was thrilled to say the least and I was happy to be part of it.

The Make-A-Wish foundation grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. The foundation believes that a wish experience can be a game changer. This one belief guides them. It inspires them to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids served. Make a wish is always looking for donors, and volunteers, YOU CAN CONTACT THEM AT WISH.ORG.

We must thank God for our children’s good health, I cannot imagine the horror of going through a life threatening illness with your baby. I pray he pulls through!

What a great gift you received in being a part of it. They just don’t go and pick anyone I’m sure they saw you and know you’d be a great part of their team to put a smile on a child’s face…..

    Hi Karie
So wonderful you were able to be a part of this child’s ‘wish’ and you are truly inspiring yourself! This charity is near and dear to me as I used to work at LB Memorial/Miller children’s Hospital. I was able to see the Make a Wish Foundation in action many times and the joy it brought to the sick kids.

Hi Laurie, It is a special feeling to be part of such a important moment in a child’s life. Miller Children’s is such an amazing hospital and Dr. Marx is an amazing man. I had the opportunity to meet with him when we were planning a music concert to benefit the hospital, unfortunately it didn’t come to fruition, but not from a lack of trying on my part. Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot!
